Set drive gear for speedometer Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) -G22- (arrow) onto drive flange and check installation position if necessary.

Note:  The followers at magnetic ring must engage in grooves of drive flange. If necessary, coat contact surface with Vaseline, to affix magnetic
ring in installation position.

Press mounting bracket with ball bearing onto left drive flange.
During this procedure, set drive flange onto VW401 thrust plate. Press on mounting bracket with VW412 thrust plate, VW415 tube and 32-109
driving sleeve.

Insert circlip (arrow -A-).

^

Install left drive flange.

^

Check and top off transmission fluid in rear final drive of automatic transmission.

Tightening torques

Mounting bracket for left drive flange at transmission ................................................................................................................................................  23 Nm
Heat shield to transmission ..........................................................................................................................................................................................  23 Nm
