Measure distance -a- at three points and calculate average value.

Distance -a- = approximately 29.9 mm.

Fit a different shim if necessary.

Note:  Before installing the gearbox, check that the dowel sleeves for locating engine/gearbox are fitted in the engine flange.

Install gearbox.
