Servicing Wheel Bearing Housing

Note: There is an alternative method for removing the wheel bearing from the wheel bearing housing.
1. Wheel bearing housing

Note different versions of suspension; use correct version.
2. Wheel bearing
^
Installation position: larger internal diameter of wheel bearing faces wheel hub
^
Pressing bearing inner race off. Refer to Figs. 5 and 6
With 75 mm diameter wheel bearing housing:
^
Pressing bearing out. Refer to Fig. 3
^
Pressing bearing in. Refer to Fig. 7
With 82 mm diameter wheel bearing housing:
^
Pressing bearing out. Refer to Fig. 4
^
Pressing bearing in. Refer to Fig. 8
3. Wheel hub

Stepped design
With 75 mm diameter wheel bearing housing:

Pressing hub out. Refer to Fig. 1
^
Pressing hub in. Refer to Fig. 9
With 82 mm diameter wheel bearing housing:

Pressing hub out. Refer to Fig. 2

Pressing hub in. Refer to Fig. 10
4. Bolt
^
10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.)
5. Splash guard
6. ABS wheel speed sensor

Pull out to remove
^
Install drive axle before installing speed sensor
^
Push into clamping sleeve up to stop
^

Always replace

Left and right-sides identical
^
Before installing, lubricate hole in wheel bearing housing with brake cylinder paste

Push into wheel bearing housing to stop
