Pry out oil seal for flanged shaft with screwdriver.

Pack space between sealing lips of new oil seal with multipurpose grease.

-

Drive in seal as far as stop.

Insert flanged shaft with magnetic ring of speedometer vehicle speed sensor.

NOTE:  When installing, make sure that the magnetic ring engages in the grooves of the flanged shaft.

Attach flanged shaft with flanged nut and secure with tabs of locking washer.

-

Install drive axle.

-

Install three way catalytic converters, refer to Powertrain Management.

-

Tightening torques:

Flanged nut of flanged shaft: 100 Nm (74 ft lb)
Drive axle to flanged shaft: 80 Nm (59 ft lb)
Heat shield to bracket: 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
