Refueling Demonstration Instructions

1998/99 Audi A6 quattro Vehicles

If a customer is concerned or has questions regarding the importance of properly refueling their Audi vehicle, please take the time to explain these
procedures to them.

The vapor recovery system built into Audi A6 quattro makes it necessary that the fuel pump nozzle is fully inserted during refueling as follows:

Slowly turn gas cap to open fuel tank

Use demonstration nozzle and carefully insert into the filler neck through upper seal. This seal is fairly tight and ensures the use of only an
"unleaded" filler nozzle. Additionally, the fuel filler neck design routes fuel vapors toward the vehicle's fuel vapor recovery canister.

Push nozzle completely into filler neck to ensure that the tip of the nozzle opens the fuel spill back valve, so that fuel can easily flow through this
valve.

This simple demonstration will show your customers the reason why it is so important to properly use the gas pump's fuel filler nozzle during refueling of
their Audi A6 quattro vehicle.
