Mass Air Flow Sensor: Recalls
Work Procedure

Open hood and remove cover from air cleaner

Section A
Check Material Of Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAS)

If MAS is aluminum, NO FURTHER WORK IS NECESSARY; reinstall cover on air cleaner and close hood

If MAS is plastic, proceed to Section B

Section B
Check Screen In MAS

Switch ignition to "OFF" position

^

Loosen clamps -5- on air hose -6- between MAS -4- and intake air duct -10- and remove air hose

^

Disconnect electrical connector from MAS

^

Disconnect and remove tie wrap -1- from metal bracket -8-

^

Remove 4 bolts -7- securing MAS, then remove MAS

^

With MAS removed, check screen installation inside MAS.

If adhesive is present at the outer edge, (metal frame around screen is covered with adhesive) proceed to Section D
