Deactivation of Rear Side Airbag

Deactivation Of Rear Side Airbag

Deactivating

-

Remove seat bench

NOTE:  Side airbags at left and right can only be shut off together. It is not possible to shut off the side airbags individually.

-

There is one harness connector at left and right by the "C-pillar"

-

Press catches - 2 - and disconnect connector - 1 - in direction of arrow.

-

Secure the loose harness connectors with cable ties.

Vehicles without head-level airbag from m.y. 2003

-

Remove rear wheelhousing trim.

-

Disconnect harness connector to crash sensor at C-pillar.

-

Install rear seat bench.

-

Affix sticker for deactivated side airbags

-

Change coding of airbag control module to the code for no rear side airbags.

Fill out registration card and deliver card to the appropriate distributor or importer for registration. Place sheet 3 of the registration card in the
owner information packet for the customer.

Activating

-

Remove seat bench

NOTE:  Side airbags at left and right can only be switched on together. It is not possible to switch on the side airbags individually.

There is one harness connector at left and right by the "C-pillar"

-

Cut cable ties for harness connectors.

-

Connect harness connectors - 1 - for side airbags.

-

Connect harness connectors - 1 - in cushion cut-out of rear seat bench

-

Remove rear wheelhousing trim.
