Make sure coil spring is correctly seated in adapter (VAG1752/7, arrow).

Pretension coil spring with clamping device (VAG1752/1) until the top shock absorber mount is free.

-

Unscrew hex nut from push rod with 3017 A.

-

Take off coil spring and individual parts of shock absorber.

Assembly of suspension strut 

Installation is the reverse of removal.

Note the information

Top and bottom ends of spring must rest against stop of spring support (arrow).

Figure shows bottom end of spring, which should face middle of vehicle.

Installed position of shock absorber mount 

Axis of assembly bolts -1- must align with axis -2- of bottom shock absorber bushing -4-.
