Front door windows stiff or do not operate when opening/closing

Condition

Front door window(s) are stiff or do not operate when opening or closing.

Technical Background

May be caused by a broken plastic window mount (Figure 1, Point 3) of window lifter mechanism (Figure 1, Point 2) in area of cable anchor cavity.

Production Solution

Not applicable.

Service

Install new plastic window mounts as follows:

1.

Move window (Figure 1, Point 6) to lowest position.

2.

Remove front door trim. See Repair Manual » Body Interior, Repair Group 70.
