Removing

Lock carrier in service position, Refer to Body and Frame.

WARNING:  For vehicles with telematic, activate service -mode of telematic- of the control module before disconnecting the battery.

Note radio code and determine if necessary (for vehicles with coded anti-theft radio / radio-navigation system -RNS

Switch ignition off and disconnect battery Ground (GND) strap.

Remove ribbed belt, Refer to Drive Belt, Service and Repair.

Detach Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve -N80- -1- at air filter housing.

-

Remove air filter housing (arrows).

-

Remove bolts -1- and -3-.

-

Disconnect hose -4- from line of secondary air injection.

-

Pull out guide tube for oil dipstick -2 from the oil pan (upper part) toward top and swing it forward for removal.

-

Pull off sealing rubber at bolted flanges of fender.

-

Insert a 5 mm backing plate between lower edge of fender and web plate.
