Fluid - Transfer Case: Service and Repair

5 Speed Automatic 01V

Center differential gear oil, checking and topping off 

-

If necessary, loosen or remove relevant parts of the exhaust system to gain access to filler plug (arrow B).

-

Remove filler plug -arrow B-.

The fluid level must be up to lower edge of filler opening.

If necessary top up with gear oil. 

-

Always replace plug.

-

Install new plug.

-

Re-secure or re-install exhaust system free of stress.

Tightening Torque: 

Center differential gear oil, changing or refilling after repairs 

Special tools and equipment

VAG1306 drip tray

Draining 
-

Place VAG1306 drip tray under differential.
