Camshafts

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Impact Puller (T10133/3) from the Tool Set (T10133)

‹› Locking Pin (T40069)

‹› Camshaft Locator (T40070) (qty. 2)

‹› Locating Pins (T40116)

‹› Hand drill with plastic brush attachment

‹› Protective eyewear

‹› Sealant

Removing

-

Remove the cylinder head cover. Refer to: Left => [ Left Cylinder Head Cover ] See: Cylinder Head Assembly/Valve Cover/Service and
Repair/Left Cylinder Head Cover, right => [ Right Cylinder Head Cover ] See: Cylinder Head Assembly/Valve Cover/Service and Repair/Right
Cylinder Head Cover.

Remove left and right timing chain covers. Refer to => [ Left and Right Timing Chain Covers ] See: Timing Components/Timing Cover/Service
and Repair/Left and Right Timing Chain Covers.

Remove camshaft timing chains from the camshafts. Refer to => [ Camshaft Timing Chain, Removing from Camshaft, Chain Tensioner ] See:
Timing Components/Timing Chain/Service and Repair/Camshaft Timing Chain, Removing From Camshaft, Chain Tensioner.

To remove the right camshafts, the vacuum pump for brake booster must be removed.

Loosen guide frame bolts in sequence - 22 to 1 -.
