Disconnect connector - C - from the control motor. 

-

Remove bolts - A - (torque 10 Nm).

Carefully lift the connecting element - D - off the control motor - B - with a screwdriver, and remove the control motor.

‹› The connecting element - D - remains on the A/C unit. 

‹› Remove the connecting element - D - to the door shaft in the A/C unit => [ Connecting Elements to A/C Unit Doors ] See: Service and

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order, when doing this note the following.

Check the position of the control motor shaft - B -, it must be located in the position depicted.

‹› Only install the connecting element - A - in the position where it engages without being forced in. If pretension is needed to insert the connecting

element, check the motor shaft - B -. It can be rotated 180°.

‹› If motor shaft - B - is not in the position depicted (the connecting piece can only be attached in this position), connect terminals " 5" and "6" of the

control motor via a 5A fuse to a 12 V battery e.g. using adapter lead => [ Preparing Adapter Cables for Control Motor Actuation ] See:
Description and Operation/Preparing Adapter Cables for Control Motor Actuation (or an adapter lead from the Connector Test Kit (V.A.G
1594/C)). Rotate the control motor for as long until the shaft is located in the position depicted (the connecting element can be connected without
pretension), the turning direction can be reversed by swapping Plus and Minus.

‹› Actuator shaft - B - does not have a stop, it rotates continuously when voltage is applied between terminals 5 and 6. Therefore,if the connecting

element - A - is connected or cannot be connected, voltage should be applied only when the control motor has been removed in order to bring shaft
into the correct position.
