Replace the seal according to the illustration above. Lightly apply washing-up liquid or soap on the seal for a better installation of the air intake unit,
which should prevent the new rubber seal from being squashed again. Fit the complete air intake unit. If the noises persist, see point 4.
Condition 4. Remove the dashboard till you have freed the area on the air conditioning unit shown in point 1 below (the connection of the refrigerant
pipes on the evaporator). If the area shown below cannot be accessed, remove the air conditioning unit.
Because of leaks on the air conditioning unit, whistling noises can be caused in the area marked 1 on the evaporator flange. Do not remove the black
insulation on the refrigerant pipes.
The insulation was removed on the illustration above to better show the problem area. Seal off the area labeled 1 above with butyl. You can make a seal
out of butyl cord AKL 450 005 05.
Fit the dashboard and check for whistling noises.
