HID Headlamp Bulb Replacement, Preparation

CAUTION:

HIGH VOLTAGE: Always disconnect negative ( - ) battery terminal prior to working on parts of HID headlamp components marked with yellow
"HIGH VOLTAGE" warning symbols.

Depending on engine version, access to headlamp bulbs could be obstructed. In this case, additional steps must be performed.

Reservoir for power steering, loosening at bracket

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Old oil collecting and extracting device V.A.G 1782

Work procedure

-

Extract power steering fluid from reservoir using old oil collecting and extracting device V.A.G 1782.

NOTE:  Place a rag under reservoir for power steering to catch escaping power steering fluid.

Remove bolt - arrow - and lay aside reservoir for power steering with hydraulic hoses connected.

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

-

Fill up power steering fluid and check hydraulic fluid level.

Tightening torque

Reservoir for power steering to bracket

9 Nm

Air filter housing, removing - vehicles with 6-cylinder Gasoline engine
