Service
When vehicle repairs are completed, i.e. battery reconnected or when the ECM is no longer accessed with a scan tool:
^
The Access Start Control Module -J518- must re-learn the transmission selector lever positions.
This is accomplished by learning the full range of travel of the selector lever as follows:
-
Switch Ignition ON.
-
Place foot on brake pedal.
-
Move transmission selector lever from the park position to the sport position (S) and back to the park position.
-
Switch ignition OFF
^
The ECM has now learned the selector lever positions.
