Airbag Control Module

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1410)

Removing

CAUTION!
Observe the safety precautions for repairs on airbags.

Switch on ignition.

‹› To remove the airbag, battery must be disconnected with the ignition switched on, this deviates from the description "disconnecting and

connecting battery".

-

Disconnect the battery ground (GND) strap.

Remove center console => [ Center Console Frame ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Center Console
Frame.

-

Remove center console frame => [ Center Console Frame ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Center
Console Frame.

-

Remove air duct from center console => [ Air Duct ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Center Console
Frame. 

-

Pull insulation - 4 - back.

-

Open securing clip - 5 - on connector - 1  -.

-

Remove connector - 1 -.

-

Remove nuts - 2 - (3x).

-

Remove control module - 3 -.
