Loosen collar bolt for outer joint of drive axle (only loosen when vehicle is standing on its wheels "Risk of accident"). Refer to => [ Drive Axle
Outer Joint Collar Bolt, Loosening and Tightening ] See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft
Assembly/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Rear Suspension/Drive Axle Outer Joint Collar Bolt, Loosening and Tightening.

Remove air spring. Refer to => [ Air Spring ] See: Suspension/Suspension Control ( Automatic - Electronic )/Air Spring/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/Rear Suspension/Air Spring.

Remove wheel speed sensor - 3 -.

Remove drive axle. Refer to => [ Drive Axle ] See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints/Axle Shaft Assembly/Service
and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Rear Suspension/Drive Axle. 

All vehicles

-

Remove brake caliper and brake disc.

-

Secure brake caliper to body so weight of caliper does not stress or damage brake hose or brake line.

Remove countersunk bolts - 1 -.

-

Remove wheel bearing unit.

CAUTION!
‹› Avoid contaminating with dirt and damaging the seal when setting down/storing. 

The wheel bearing - 1 - must always face up.
