Affected Vehicles

70 Dashboard - Rattling Noises from Left Windshield Area

Condition

Cracking noises come from the left windshield or dashboard when driving on poor roads.

Technical Background

This only affects vehicles with chassis numbers attached to the windshield.

The outer clip of the chassis number display touches the windshield.

Production Solution

1. Attached felt to the outer clip of the viewer.

2. Viewer changed to reduce chance of contact with dashboard.

Service

Attach felt on the clip of the chassis number viewer. See the circle in the illustration above.

The windshield must be removed. (Reinstall removed Windshield)
