For Left Hand Drive (LHD) vehicles:
A = 159 mm ± 0.5 mm
For Right Hand Drive Vehicles (RHD):
A = 173.2 mm ± 0.5 mm
Notes:

When measuring, ball head must be at a right angle to surface of the brake booster.

Measure to end of ball head without seal.
Master brake cylinder, removing and installing
Special tools and equipment

Sealing plugs from repair kit, Part No. 1H0 698 311 A
Removing
-
Attach bleeder hose of bleeder bottle to left-front brake caliper bleeder valve and open bleeder valve.

Operate brake pedal to pump out as much brake fluid as possible.

Close left-front bleeder valve.
Note: Cover engine compartment to make sure that brake fluid does not flow into it.

Disconnect clutch master cylinder supply hose -1- and seal with plug.

Disconnect harness connector for brake fluid level warning switch -2-.
