Remove engine cover panel.

Remove upper section of air cleaner and set aside.

^

Remove lower section of air cleaner.

^

Remove oil pressure switch and install adapter VAG 1342/3 in its place.

^

Install VAG 1342 into adapter VAG 1342/3

^

Install oil pressure switch in VAG 1342.

^

Install lower section of air cleaner.

^

Install upper section of air cleaner.

^

Start engine.

^

Engine oil temperature must be at least 80° C (176° F). 

Oil Pressure At Idling Speed 1 to 2.5 bar  
Oil Pressure At 3000 rpm 3 to 5 bar  

Note:  If the oil pressure is excessively high (for example if pressure relief valve is sticking or has been installed incorrectly) the hydraulic lifters will
jam. The engine will cut out soon after starting. When attempting to start the engine again it will be noticed that the engine turns over too quickly due
to lack of compression.
