O-ring for output flange/drive shaft, replacing 
Special tools and equipment

VAG 1306 Drip tray

3402 Right sealing ring installer

Removing 

-

Disconnect left and right three way catalytic converters from rear exhaust system and press both three way catalytic converters apart at rear.

-

If necessary, remove rear part of exhaust system. 

-

Remove heat shield for drive shaft.

-

Disconnect drive shaft from transmission flange

-

Place VAG 1306 drip tray underneath transfer case.

-

Drain transmission fluid from transfer case
