60 Sunroof switch jams or freewheels
Condition
Diagnosis confirms that the sunroof switch does not operate the sunroof or the switch is physically broken. The sunroof can be manually closed in the
event of electrical sunroof operation failure.
Technical Background
Knob of the sunroof switch is damaged over time and, eventually, the sunroof switch fails.
Production Solution
Improved assembly process.
Service
Replace the faulty sunroof switch.
The improved switch is identified with a blue dot.
Tip: Completely open the sunroof by overriding the spring resistance in the sunroof switch. The sunroof returns to the starting position after releasing
the sunroof knob. This will confirm a faulty sunroof switch.
NOTE: Use sunroof switch (Part No. 8E0 959 613 A + color code) only with the sunroof drive (Part No. 4B0 959 591) with index H or higher. Fitting
this sunroof switch with sunroof drive Part No. 4B0 959 591 with index G or lower with convenience catch in the sunroof knob leads to malfunctions.
