Remove plenum chamber cover.

-

Remove coolant reservoir hex head screw -1-.

-

Disconnect the connector on the coolant reservoir.

Lay aside reservoir.

-

Install the Brake Pedal Loading Device (V.A.G 1869/2) between the brake pedal and driver seat. Depress the brake pedal a minimum of 60 mm.

Connect the bleeder bottle hose to the bleeder screws on the left front and left rear brake calipers. Open the bleeder screws.

‹› This lowers the pressure in the hydraulic unit.

-

Close the left front and left rear bleeder screws.

-

Do not remove Brake Pedal Loading Device (V.A.G 1869/2).

-

To protect against escaping brake fluid, place a lint-free rag in the area under the control module and hydraulic unit.

‹› Number brake lines.

CAUTION!
Do not bend the brake lines near the hydraulic unit.

Remove the brake lines and master brake cylinder.
