Vehicle Information

Condition

"Muh" or moaning noise coming from the front brakes (FNRG) in the following conditions:

^

Slowly pulling away after a stop.

^

While turning at low speeds.

The performance of the brakes is not compromised.

Technical Background

The pistons in the calipers in certain vehicles may not retract far enough, which may leave contact between the rotor and pad. This contact may cause a
"muh" or moaning noise in low speed conditions.

Production Solution

New caliper piston seals are being developed to allow the pistons to retract further. The new seals will not be available until the end of the 2007 calendar
year.

Service

No repair is available at this time. Do not perform any repairs. Any repairs for this concern may be re-debited.

Instruct the customer that this condition is known and a solution is under development.

Create a TACS contact to confirm the concern fits this condition.

The case will be recorded. As soon as improved parts are available, your dealership and the customer will be contacted with further instructions.
