A6 Quattro Sedan V8-4.2L (BVJ) (2007)
‹› Control motor shaft - E - does not have a stop, it rotates continuously when voltage is applied to terminals 5 and 6. Therefore, when the control
motor is removed, voltage is only to be applied if connecting element (for the air recirculation door) - B - is attached to the control motor.
‹› If connecting element - B - cannot be inserted into the control motor without pretension, the control motor shaft may be incorrectly positioned.
‹› If the shaft is so awkwardly positioned that the connecting element cannot be attached, connect terminals 5 and 6 of the control motor via a 5A
fuse to a 12 V battery e.g. using adapter lead => [ Preparing Adapter Cables for Control Motor Actuation ] See: Description and
Operation/Preparing Adapter Cables for Control Motor Actuation or an auxiliary lead from the Connector Test Kit (V.A.G 1594/C).
‹› Rotate the control motor only until the connecting element can be attached without pretension, the turning direction can be reversed by swapping
Plus and Minus.
‹› Make sure the connecting element is seated correctly. There must not be any play between the control motor mount - A - and the connecting
element - B -.
‹› Check the connecting element - B - for proper seating, it must engage in the motor shaft - A - and there must be no play between the control motor
shaft and connecting element.
‹› Only install the connecting element - B - in the position where it engages without being forced in. If pretension is necessary to insert connecting
element, check the motor mount - A -. It can be turned 180°.
‹› If connecting piece - A - cannot be inserted into actuator without pretension, actuator may be incorrectly positioned.

Install actuator - B -.
