Fresh Air Intake Grille

Fresh Air Intake Grille

‹› Depending on the version, for some countries with high dust levels, a dust filter installed instead of intake air grille - A -, which prevents dust and

sand from entering the fresh air blower.

‹› If a dust filter is installed instead of the intake grille -  A -, remove the dust filter as follows: Remove the plenum chamber cover, remove the Air

Quality Sensor (G238), loosen the holder for the pump/valve unit from the chassis (secured with 3 hex nuts), tilt the pump/valve unit to the side,
and remove the dust filter with the holder.

Removing

-

Switch off ignition.

-

Remove the plenum chamber cover.

CAUTION!
Even when the engine is cold, both pump/valve unit valves can be hot.

Remove the windshield wiper arm and cowl panel trim

-

If necessary, remove the dome brace (not present in all vehicles).

Remove the air intake unit upper cover => [ Air Intake Unit Upper Cover ] See: Air Duct/Service and Repair/Air Intake Unit Upper Cover.

Loosen the retainers - A - and remove the grille for the fresh air intake - B - from the air intake unit.
