Fuel Pressure: Testing and Inspection

Fuel Pressure and Residual Pressure before High Pressure Pump, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Pressure Gauge K-Jetronic (V.A.G 1318)

‹› Pressure Gauge Adapter (V.A.G 1318/10-12)

‹› Connector Test Set (V.A.G 1594C)

‹› Remote Control (V.A.G 1348/3A) with Adapter Cable (V.A.G 1348/3-3)

‹› Measuring container, fuel-resistant

‹› Protective gloves

Fuel Pressure, Checking:

‹› Battery voltage at least 12.5 Volts.

‹› Fuel filter OK.

‹› Fuel tank at least 1/4 filled.

‹› Fuel Pump (FP) Control Module (J538) OK 

‹› Ignition switched off.

Fuel Pressure, Checking

Fold rear seat right backrest forward, if necessary.

Sedan:

Remove luggage compartment floor trim.

Wagon:

-

Remove the luggage compartment liner - 1 -.

‹› Ignore - 2 -.

On vehicles without air suspension, unclip right sealing flange cover retainers - arrow -.
