Carefully pry out old slide washer - 1 - with a screwdriver. 

-

Position new slide washer on wheel hub.

Install special tools as shown in illustration.

1. Press piece (VW 473)

2. Assembly tool (T40089/2)

3. Slide washer

4. Wheel hub

5. Thrust plate (VW 401)

Press slide washer off using assembly tool (T40089/2) as shown in illustration up to wheel bearing hub radius.
