Service
Engine does not start, with no DTC entry:
1. In Guided Fault Finding, look for perception symptoms without entry. When the memory is empty, follow the following path in GFF: Complaint
report >> Complaint related to observation >> Powertrain (RG 01; 10-39) >> Engine >> Start >> Engine does not start after short standing time. Press
accept. Press green arrow on right to proceed.
2. Check the fuel pressure.
If the engine does not start although the low pressure system is correct, the following message appears in the test program: "If the engine only does not
start when hot, a stuck pressure relief valve or a blockage in the low pressure return system may cause the condition. Because of the hot engine, the fuel
expands after switching off the engine and increases the fuel pressure to such an extent that the engine control unit can prevent an engine start. Let the
engine cool down and try to start the engine. If the engine starts when the vehicle is cool, check the pressure relief valve and the low pressure return
system."
When DTC entries are present:
1. First check the low and high pressure in the fuel system using the appropriate MVB for the rail fuel pressure in GFF.
2. If both the low and high fuel pressures are correct, check the low fuel pressure return lines and the pressure relief valves in the rail for a blockage.
Replace them if necessary.
Follow GFF consistently to the end to avoid any unnecessary parts replacement.
