‹› Removing

-

Place front seat backrests in reclined position.

-

Switch on ignition.

‹› To remove the airbag, battery must be disconnected with the ignition switched on, this deviates from the description "disconnecting and

connecting battery".

-

Disconnect the battery ground (GND) strap.

-

Remove headliner => [ Headliner ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Roof Trim.

-

Lay headliner on seats.

-

Disconnect electrical connector - 1 - on gas generator -  8 - => [ Electrical connection on gas generator, disconnecting and connecting ].

-

Remove screws on airbag in sequence - 2 -, -  4 - and - 6 -.

-

Remove screws - 7 - on gas generator.

-

Unclip securing pins - 5 - from body.

-

Disengage gas generator - 8 - with hooks on body. 

-

Remove head-level airbag - 3 - from vehicle.

‹› Installing

CAUTION!
Always follow side curtain airbag installation procedure.

‹› Replace self-locking nuts and screws when assembling.

‹› Threaded holes for screws must always be cleaned (for example, with thread cutter)

-

Engage gas generator - 8 - with hooks in body => [ Disengaging and engaging gas generator ].

-

Tighten screws - 7 - on gas generator - 8  -.

-

Press retaining strap securing pins - 5 - in body => [ Unclip retaining strap with airbag securing pin and press ].

-

Tighten screws - 2 -, - 4 - and -  6 - in sequence - A to G -.

-

When connecting electrical connector to gas generator -  8 -, ensure this engages with a click on gas generator => [ Electrical connection on gas
generator, disconnecting and connecting ] See: Side Curtain Airbag Igniters, Sedan.

-

Install headliner => [ Headliner ] See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Headliner/Service and Repair/Roof Trim.

CAUTION!
No one should be in vehicle when connecting battery.

-

Connect battery ground strap.

-

Follow measures after connecting battery.

‹› If Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, DTC memory must be checked, deleted and then checked

again.
