Steering Column Control Module J527

Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527, Removing And Installing

If control module is replaced, select "Guided Functions" of respective control module in.

Removing

-

Remove Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM).

CAUTION:  Ensure steering is in straight ahead and centered prior to removing spiral spring.

Position of spiral spring must not be changed once removed.

Carefully release catches - arrows -.

-

Pull return spring with slip ring - 2 - with Steering Angle Sensor G85 - item 1 - off from steering column switch module (SCSM).

Remove bolts - arrows -.

-

Remove Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527 - item 1 - from steering column switch module.

Installing

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Make sure that all 3 catches as well as the harness connectors are engaged correctly.

Install Steering Column Switch Module (SCSM).

If Steering Column Electronic Systems Control Module J527 was replaced, it must be coded.

Tightening torques

Steering column switch module (SCSM)

0.65 Nm

to Steering Column Electronic
Systems Control Module J527

Windshield Wiper/Washer Switch E22

0.65 Nm
