Constant Velocity Joint: Removal and Replacement
Front Suspension

100 mm Outer Constant Velocity Joint, Servicing

Outer Constant Velocity Joint, Removing

Secure drive axle with protective covers in vise clamp.

-

Open both clamping sleeves and remove protective joint boot from outer joint.

-

Strike a copper or brass drift - A - on CV joint inner race with a hammer.

-

Remove joint and protective joint boot.

Outer CV joint, installing 

-

Slide protective joint boot with small clamping sleeve on drive axle.

Joints and protective joint boots must be free of grease.

Replace circlip - 1 -.

-

Position CV boot in outer groove - arrow B -.

Inner groove - arrow A - must remain visible " identification groove" (for correct installation of CV boot).

-

Add specified quantity of grease to the inner joint. See table => [ Grease quantity and type ] See: Service and Repair/Removal and
