Instrument Panel Voltage Regulator: Testing and Inspection
Voltage stabilizer
-
Leave battery ground strap connected.

Leave all instrument cluster connectors attached.
-
Set digital multimeter (Fluke 83 or equivalent) to volt range.

Connect red multimeter test lead to terminal -1- (+) and black multimeter test lead to terminal -2- (ground).

Switch ignition ON.

Must be approx. battery voltage
If NOT:
-
Check wiring for open circuit according to wiring diagram, repair as necessary.

Connect red multimeter test lead to terminal -3- and black multimeter test lead to terminal -2- (ground).

Switch ignition ON.
-
Must be 9.75 - 10.25 volts
If NOT:
-
Replace printed circuit.
