Ignition Lock Cable: Adjustments

NOTE:  The locking cable must always be adjusted when it is installed.

Loosen bolt -1-.

-

Turn ignition starter switch to "Drive" position (switch ignition on).

-

Turn locking cable to installation position.

-

Place 1.5 mm (0.059 inch) feeler gauge -A- between locking flap and locking pin.

-

Adjust by moving cable in direction of arrow so that locking pin is pushed against feeler gauge.

In this position, tighten bolt -1-.

After operating several times, clearance between locking pin and locking flap must be 1.2-1.7 mm (0.047-0.067 inch)

Move selector lever into "N" position.

-

Install locking cable at selector lever housing.

It is important to make sure that the locking cable is laid in position free of kinks, and is attached with clip (arrow).

Functional Check
-

Move selector lever into "P" position and turn ignition key to end position.

-

It must not be possible to move selector lever into a drive position.

-

The ignition key can be withdrawn.

-

Move selector lever into a drive position.

-

Ignition key turned to end position.

-

It must not be possible to withdraw ignition key.
