Steering Wheel: Service and Repair
Spiral Spring, Replacement

Airbag Sport Steering Wheel

CAUTION: Wheels must be in straight- ahead position when removing steering wheel and airbag spiral spring. After removal, the airbag spiral spring
must not be rotated.

Remove airbag.

-

Disconnect single-pin airbag power supply connector.

-

Loosen three Torx screws -1- (T20).
-

5 Nm (44 in lb)

-

Remove airbag and disconnect wire at connector.

-

Loosen hex bolts -5-
-

5 Nm (44 in lb)

-

Remove steering wheel, disconnect airbag spiral spring connector -7-.

-

Remove four Torx screws (T2O) holding the airbag spiral spring -8-.
-

2.3 Nm (20 in lb)

-

Remove airbag spiral spring from the back.
