Measure distances -a- as shown-left and right sides must be equal-and determine shim thickness required according to table below.

Shim Table, Driveshaft Alignment

Centering driveshaft in longitudinal direction

Push driveshaft to rear as far as stop with alignment fixture.

Mark rearward position of center bearing at body (arrow -A-).

Push driveshaft forward with alignment fixture.

-

Mark forward position of center bearing at body (arrow -B-).

Align driveshaft to center-center bearing must be between markings (arrow-C-).

-

Install center bearing bolts with required shims as selected earlier, and tighten to 20 Nm (15 ft lb).

-

Remove alignment fixture.

INSTALLATION

-

Install crossmember below driveshaft and tighten mounting bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft lb).
