Drive Pinion Double Seal, Replacing

5 Speed Automatic 01V

Double seal in drive pinion, replacing 

Note:  
-

On the left side of the intermediate flange there is an oil leak checking hole for the double seal in the drive pinion and the double seal in the
intermediate flange.

-

If fluid is leaking from this leak checking hole (arrows, the double seal must be replaced.

Tools required 

-

3403 press tool

Removing 

-

Remove differential.

-

Remove intermediate flange for front wheel drive.

-

Carefully remove drive pinion from shaft.

CAUTION:  Do not install spur gears, which have been dropped on the floor. Replace the transmission if a spur gear is damaged.

-

Drive out double seal with suitable mandrel.

Installing 

-

Install in reverse order. In addition, perform the following work steps:
