Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 91 number 09-55 dated August 12, 2009 for reasons listed below.

Affected Vehicles

CONDITION

^ DTC 01044 (control unit wrong coded, sporadic) is logged in the amplifier for the digital sound system (BOSE only).

^ The amplifier is not malfunctioning, and the customer has no complaint.

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

This sporadic DTC was unjustifiably set due to a misinterpretation of a CAN message during initialization.

PRODUCTION SOLUTION

Not applicable.

SERVICE

If the DTC is set sporadically, and the audio system is functioning according to the manufacturer's specifications, disregard the fault code.
