Disengaging Slide, Function Illustration

NOTE:  Door handle is shown disassembled for a better illustration.

Reach with hook behind slide - 1 - and pull out in - direction of arrow -.

Dashed illustration shows slide in disengaged position.

Disengage lock cylinder - 3 - in door handle in this way.

-

Now you can remove lock cylinder from door handle - 2 -.

Transfer module - 4 - is clipped into door handle.

NOTE: From MY 2005 on, the lock mechanism - 2 - on an additional cover must be loosened first

Press lock mechanism - 2 - away in direction of arrow towards center of vehicle with a screwdriver, for example.
Reach into hole on slide - 1 - with hook described above and pull out until it makes contact.
Remove lock cylinder from door handle.
