Point 1 and 2:

Check whether the release lug is present (Figure 1, 1) on the left and right sides of the bellow or has been damaged or broken off.

Check the latch segment (Figure 1, 2) for damage.

The spacer of the new two-part latch protects the guide spring from damage if the latch segment is not installed in the sunroof frame.

Check the mounting (Figure 2, 4) of the deflector (Figure 2, 5) on the guide spring (Figure 2, 3) for damage.

Check the "C" guide piece for damage (Figure 3).

If the deflector mounting (Figure 2, 4) or the "C" guide piece (Figure 3) shows sign of damage, replace the complete sunroof frame. Because the
mounting to the deflector is not available as a spare part, a complete assemble replacement is necessary.

If damage is not present, continue with replacing the damaged guide spring.
