Remove the sunroof cover and the headlining according to the repair manual.

Pull the left and right guide springs to the inside and unclip (Figure 4).

Remove the guide spring by pulling the guide spring forward (Figure 5).

Install the new guide spring in reverse order. Push it at the side into the sunroof frame and clip the guide spring in place. Use the positioning aids on the
guide spring and on the sunroof frame as a location aid (Figure 6).

Lightly grease the guide springs after the installation with grease G 000 450 02.

NOTE:  When replacing the rear slides ("C" guide piece), install the slides prior to the installation on the left and right guide spring (for access reasons).

Point 3:

With the sunroof in the vent position and the sunroof headliner closed, check whether the slide ("C" guide) has slipped off the guide spring. (View it
from the right B-pillar area in the direction of the right rear corner of the sunroof headlining between the glass cover and sunroof headlining.)

If the sunroof headlining hangs down because of a loose "C" guide, remove the inner headlining according to the workshop manual.

NOTE:  Place the headliner on top of the seat. It is not necessary to remove the headliner from the vehicle.
