Vacuum Pump: Service and Repair

The vacuum pump is attach to the to the left side of the engine at the front
removing
-
Open the clamp on the vacuum hose using suitable pliers.
‹› Depending on the model, the vacuum hose to attached to the vacuum pump by screws.

Remove the vacuum hose.
CAUTION!
Be careful not to damage the vacuum hose. Replace the vacuum hose if damaged.

Remove all the screws on the vacuum pump sealing flange.

Remove the vacuum pump from the vehicle.
installing
Installation is done in reverse order, but observe the following:
‹› Replace O-rings.

Position vacuum pump drive so that it engages in groove on camshaft arrows when vacuum pump is installed.

Install all the screws into the vacuum pump sealing flange and install the pump, and then tighten to 9 Nm.
‹› Depending on the model, the vacuum hose must be attached to the vacuum pump, to 5 Nm.

Slide the vacuum hose and the new hose clamp onto the vacuum pump connection.
CAUTION!
Be careful not to damage the vacuum hose. Replace the vacuum hose if damaged.

Close the hose clamp with pliers.
