If voltage supply is OK:
Checking wiring
If the manufacturers test box is being used, perform the following step.

Install the test box (VAG1598/42) => Fuel Injection and Ignition 24 Diagnosis and Testing.
If the manufacturers test box is not being used, perform the following step.

Remove the Engine Control Module (ECM) (J623). Refer to => [ Engine Control Module, Replacing ] See: Powertrain Management/Computers
and Control Systems/Engine Control Module/Service and Repair/Engine Control Module, Replacing.

Using a Multimeter, Check the Camshaft Adjustment Valve electrical harness connector to the Engine Control Module (ECM) (J623) electrical
harness connector for resistance.
‹› Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 (N205) (bank 1).
‹› Camshaft Adjustment Valve 1 (exhaust) (N318)(bank 1).
‹› Camshaft Adjustment Valve 2 (N208) (bank 2).
‹› Camshaft Adjustment Valve 2 (exhaust) (N319) (bank 2).
Specified value: 1.5 ohms max.
