This position can be simulated on lifting platform by raising wheel bearing housing using engine/transmission jack VAG 1383 A and wheel hub
support T10149.

Requirement: 
^

Engine must be installed.

-

Set vehicle on lifting platform.

-

Perform system bleed using VAS 5051 A.

-

Clean area of air connection.

-

Remove connecting piece - 1 - at residual pressure valve - 2 -. This dissipates air.

Note: 
^

In general, the residual pressure valve - 2 - must not be loosened or removed.

-

Seal both connections. When doing this, make sure that no particles of dirt penetrate into connections.

-

Turn wheel hub far enough until one of the holes for wheel bolts is on top.

-

Install wheel hub support T10149 with wheel bolt.

-

Insert wheel hub support T10149 into engine/transmission jack VAG 1383 A and press wheel bearing housing far enough upward until control
position, dimension - a -, is obtained.

Control position 

^

Dimension - a - for vehicles with air suspension 386mm 

^

Dimension - a - for allroad vehicles with air spring 388 mm

CAUTION!
Do not lift or lower vehicle when engine/transmission jack stands below the vehicle.
Do not leave engine/transmission jack beneath the vehicle any longer than necessary.

Work operations after setting control position 
-

Tighten respective bolts/nuts.

-

Lower wheel bearing housing.

-

Remove engine/transmission jack V.A.G. 1383 A from below vehicle.

-

Remove wheel hub support T10149.
