ATF temperature reading 

Display on VAS5051:
-

From list - 1 - select diagnostic function "08 - Read data block (measured value block)".

Display on VAS5051:
1 - Enter display group.

Use keypad - 2 - to enter "4" for "Display group number 4" and confirm by touching Q key.

Display on VAS5051:
-

Reading for ATF temperature is shown in display zone - 1 -.

Checking and correcting ATF level

Note:

The ATF level is checked at the ATF inspection plug.

At an ATF temperature between 35° and 45°C (50°C for tropical countries) a small amount of fluid should drain out of the inspection bore if the
transmission is filled with the proper quantity of ATF (this is normal as the fluid expands as it heats up).

Drive vehicle onto a four-column lifting platform or over an inspection pit in order for it to be absolutely horizontal.

Note:

Before raising the vehicle on a lifting platform (wheels off the ground) you must first activate the jacking mode.

Fill container of ATF charging device V.A.G 1924 with ATF for automatic transmission 09L.

CAUTION!
The ATF charging device must be clean and the ATF must not be mixed with other types of ATF!
