Shifter A/T: Removal and Replacement
Transmission Park Selector Switch F305, Removing and Installing
Transmission Park Selector Switch F305, removing and installing 09L, 6 Speed AWD A/T
The Transmission Park Selector Switch F305 consists of two microswitches. The two microswitches form the signal required by the electronic ignition
key removal lock to release the key only in selector position P.
The first switch is closed when the Shift Lock Solenoid N 110 is not actuated in selector position "P", (brake pedal not depressed) and the manual
release of the selector lever below the ashtray is not operated.
The second switch is closed when the button on the selector lever handle is not operated in selector position "P".
Note this before replacing Transmission Park Selector Switch F305:
1. The two switches are connected in series, i.e. both switches must be closed before the ignition key can be removed. The switches can be checked
with the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051A in the Guided Fault Finding. After performing the vehicle system test,
select the test program F305 - Gear selector position P switch (Powertrain / Automatic transmission 09L / 01 - systems capable of self-diagnosis /
02 - transmission electronics / electrical components).
2. It is possible to perform an electrical check on the switches. When performing a continuity test using a multimeter, note that the resistance is
approx. 470 Ohm with both switches closed.
