Wheel Bearing: Procedures
Wheel Bearing, with Air Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position

Wheel Bearing, with Air Suspension, Lifting to Curb Weight Position

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Engine/transmission jack (V.A.G 1383 A)

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

‹› Wheel Hub Support (T10149)

‹› Insertion tool 10 mm (V.A.G 1783/1)

Bonded rubber bushings can only be turned to a limited extent.

Before axle components with bonded rubber bushings are tightened, they have to be brought to a position which matches the position when the vehicle
is being operated (control position).

Otherwise the rubber mounting will be stressed, resulting in a reduced service life.

This position can be simulated on the lifting platform by raising the wheel bearing housing using engine/transmission jack (V.A.G 1383 A) and wheel
hub support (T10149).

Requirement:

‹› Engine must be installed.

-

Perform system vent using Diagnostic Operation System (VAS 5051 A). Refer to => [ System, Venting or Filling ] See: Steering and
Suspension/Suspension/Suspension Control ( Automatic - Electronic )/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/System,
Venting or Filling.
