Using screwdriver, pry fastening strip -11- from fastening groove -12-.

Cut through upholstery clips -7- and remove seat cover.

Remove backrest heating element -8-.
Installing:

Use VAG1634 stapling tool to install new upholstery clips.

When installing new backrest panel, bend retaining tabs -13- inward approx. 1-2 mm (1/16 in.) to provide better support for fastening strip.
NOTES: Check the following after completing the installation of the backrest:

The seat belt guide component and the belt webbing must not make contact with or rub against the seat foam or the seat cover fabric.

The guide component must follow all movements of the belt webbing.
-
The belt webbing must run freely in all directions.

Screwdriver or upholstery needle Max. width 2 mm (25/32 in.)

Insert screwdriver or upholstery needle -3- (max. width 2 mm or 0.079 in.) into hole -4- (opposite retaining clip for head restraint guide).

Pry screwdriver -3- in direction of arrow -A-, press retainer tab -2- in direction of arrow -B- and remove head restraint guide -1-.
