Refrigerant Lines on Compressor

Refrigerant Lines On Compressor, Disconnecting And Connecting (compressor With A/C Compressor Regulator Valve -N280-)

NOTE:

-

With the engine running the compressor is always driven, the compressor has no A/C clutch. For this reason, the engine should only be started
when the refrigerant circuit is completely and properly installed. For example; if the refrigerant lines are not connected, when the engine is running
the compressor may heat up (via internal heat generation) so much that the compressor will be damaged.

The following illustrations show a compressor that is installed on the right side of the engine, refrigerant lines with compressors installed on the
left side must be removed the same way. Currently refrigerant line brackets for these engines are not installed.

Close all open lines and connections on compressor with suitable caps (avoid dirt and moisture from entering the system).

Removing

-

Discharge A/C refrigerant system:

-

Remove noise insulation:

-

Remove bolt -A-, currently only installed on right hand side compressors)

-

Unscrew bolts -B-.

Installing

Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:

-

Replace O-Ring-seals -D- (23.8 mm x 2.4 mm) and -E- (11.1 mm x 1.8 mm).

Tighten bolts -B- to: 25 Nm.

Tighten bolt -A- to: 25 Nm.

NOTE:

-

First tighten screw -B-, than tighten clamp -C- with bolt -A-.

Do not use the O-rings from the shipping caps that are installed on the connections on replacement compressors.
